My practice, Shareen Rikhraj Psychotherapy, occupies land in Hamilton, Ontario. I am on Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ, Attiwonderonk (Neutral), Haudenosaunee, Mississauga, and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation land. The territory is covered by the Dish with One Spoon Wampum Belt Covenant, a treaty between the Anishinaabe, Mississaugas and Haudenosaunee to share the territory and protect the land.

Hamilton is home to Indigenous people from across Turtle Island, many of whom have been forcibly and intentionally mistreated. I will continue learning about the complex, heartbreaking and beautiful history of Indigenous peoples, and actively work to develop culturally safe practices to support and honour the Native people of this land.

I recognize and condemn the colonial genocide perpetuated to the Indigenous people of Canada, and to millions of others worldwide.
